Loved getting to know more about Melanie! Learn more about her below and check out her site!
Tell us a little bit about you…
My name is Melanie Curley. I’m a mom to a sweet little 2 year old boy, and a creative spirit – I guess that makes me a mompreneur. I’m also a photographer (former wedding photographer). Some other hobbies of mine include cooking, baking and perusing over beautiful cookbooks. I love getting to spend a day painting at my studio with music playing – there is always music!
Why did you start your business?
I started Mango Reclaimed out of a desire to do something that I loved. Something that would make me happy every day and something I could be proud of. Life can be short – it’s a good idea to spend it doing something you enjoy.
Where do you find inspiration?
I find inspiration everywhere. I love scouring over magazines and books and can easily waste hours on Pinterest ‘researching’. As a photographer I also love looking to the outdoors for inspiration . . . mother nature always creates the most beautiful colour palettes.
What is your favorite thing to collect?
I love collecting all vintage furniture. Anything that has previously loved and still has good bones. I love looking for the potential in a piece.
What is your favorite MMSMP color and why?
Right now I am loving Miss Mustard Seed Yellow. I’m typically more of a beachy grey/blue colour palette kinda girl but have found recently that hits of Miss Mustard Seed Yellow freshen up the whole look. (think sunshine over a pale blue sky)
Our #mmsmpcolorofthemonth giveaway winner is Abby! Abby, keep an eye out for an email from heidi@missmustardseed.com.
Thank you all for entering! We’ll have another #mmsmpcolorofthemonth giveaway in February for Apron Strings!
Love your story! I am retired and just starting out in my new journey of furniture refinishing. Glad to see that your journey has been so fulfilling – you are an inspiration to us!
Thank you so much Diane!
After I originally left a comment I appear to have clicked the -Notify me when new comments are added- checkbox and now every time a comment
is added I receive 4 emails with the same comment.
Perhaps there is a way you can remove me from that service?
Thank you!
